As a transplant from the Canadian Rockies, I have found the warm ocean waters, majestic mountains, volcanoes and rain forests of the Big Island of Hawaii an incredible environment in which to work, play, thrive and enjoy life. I have owned property in Kona since 1989 and began my real estate career in 1990. Real estate is my full time profession and Clark Realty has been my office of choice since May 1993. The majority of my business is residential, condominium, land and project sales.
In 1993, I was recipient of the Realtor Associate of the Year award and I earned my Real Estate Broker's License in 1994 followed by the Advanced Buyers Representative (ABR) designation in 2005 and Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) in 2006. Currently I am working on the designation for Certified Commercial Investment Management and have completed the Ninja Sales Training Program and retreat. During 2009, I also served as Broker-in-Charge of the Kona office of Clark Realty.
It is a pleasure to be a member of this West Hawaii community and enjoy its many activities, entertainment opportunities, cultural environment and, of course, the weather (there are 13 climate zones world-wide and we are blessed to have 11 of them on the Island of Hawaii). As a parent, Kona was a wonderful place to raise my daughter, who is currently in college.
I invite you to come explore this wonderful paradise and, if you are preparing to buy or sell property on the Big Island, please call us to discuss your real estate needs.
Unlike some Hawaii residents, when the surf is up and the waves are rumbling across the beaches you won’t find me on a surfboard ducking the waves. Instead, when the sun is out and the skies are blue, my children and I are most often found upcountry at a ranch getting dirty with our horses. In addition to our stunning beaches, surf spots and great fishing, the Big Island also offers a spectacular mountain lifestyle with a rich cowboy culture. This is one of the many reasons I love the Big Island, and having grown up in Kona, I feel extremely fortunate to say that I have been able to experience all of the beautiful environments and culture this island has to offer.
Before joining Clark Realty, I owned my own Juice Bar/Cleanse business where I had the opportunity to educate and support clients through their personalized health goals with programs catering to their specific needs. The transition to real estate was natural, as working with clients searching for a home or ready to sell is also a way to support people in reaching goals that help them live the lives they imagine.
As a new agent, I have the great fortune to have joined forces with Derinda Thatcher, consistently one of Kona’s top producing real estate agents, who is my mentor and teammate. Together, we offer our clients the benefit of Derinda’s extensive wealth of market knowledge combined with the digital marketing expertise I developed in my former career. As members of Team Sold Hawaii, we are able to offer to our buyers and sellers an advantage in today’s market by merging the best of two generations of real estate practice.

“Where is home?”
When this question arises, as it so often does when meeting someone new in the islands, I always tell people I feel doubly blessed; I was born and raised in the rolling hills of the Sonoma County wine country and then chose to start my own family in the warmth and beauty of tropicalHawaii. Santa Rosa, CA is my “hometown”— over six generations of my family have been there—but beautiful Kona on the West side of the Big Island is truly the “forever home” where my heart feels at rest.
There is a magical quality (mana) of this island that called to my husband and me every time we visited and tried to leave. In 1993, we finally decided to move to Hawaii and start our own
family, taking vacations back to the mainland when we need to reconnect for a while there.
We’ve never regretted that big jump across the ocean.
“Why real estate?”
I came to real estate sales with a background in custom home construction and remodels
where I partnered in a design firm business as an interior designer and materials specifier with
my husband who is an architect. (Architecture is becoming a family business—our daughter is
finishing up her last year of college and will soon join the mix.)
My favorite part of design over the last ten years has been real estate staging. It has always felt
like a gift to help people transition the homes they have lovingly created as they shift into their
next step in life. I guide and consult with my clients as they evaluate the cherished treasures
that gave character to the home they are saying goodbye to, helping them decide what to pack,
what to keep, and how to present their new home to the market to sell it with ease. To me, a
home is so very personal and selling it should be treated with great care to ensure it is a happy
and celebrated milestone for all concerned.
After staging with Derinda Thatcher, now a partner and real estate colleague, for a decade, I
finally decided to add a real estate license to round out my career in the industry. Becoming a
licensed agent was such a natural extension of everything I already was a part of—designing,
building, staging, selling.
Bringing my years of design and staging experience to Team Sold Hawaii is the perfect fit,
complemented by Derinda’s immense experience in the industry as a sales leader and
Chelsea Rosario’s infectious energy and technical marketing skills. We are three unstoppable
women when we put our minds and hearts into one intention. Let us focus all that we have to
offer professionally toward you, your home sale or your new home purchase. It’s our
passion, it’s what we do best.
